HOW DO WE RECEIVE OUR IMAGES? 

All photos will be delivered in an online gallery that is live for 365 days, so make sure to download all images before the year is up. You may also ask for a flash drive with all your images for an additional $100.

DO YOU HAVE A SECOND SHOOTER? 

I offer each couple the option to add a second shooter for each wedding. I feel that they are needed on a case to case basis for me personally. If you are getting ready at 2 different locations, have a guest count of over 250 and value candid shots of guests at all times, or just want more perspectives throughout the day, then a second shooter should be added. Otherwise, I am confident shooting solo!

HOW DO ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS WORK?

I always encourage each couple to pick a spot with meaning to them so we can tell their story best. We will start with a location they love or have wanted to shoot at. Then I will send over what colors are best to be photographed in there. Based on the location, will help advise you on what to wear as a couple. There are definitely do’s and don’ts for wardrobe and I’ll fill you in with all the dets. Then let’s meet up for a drink beforehand and just get comfortable, then we will adventure to our location together. We spend the next hour taking in the views at sunset and having a freaking AMAZING time. Think of it as a date, with a little paparazzi. Sessions take place on M-Th at sunrise or sunset because weekends are reserved for weddings + self care.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO WE GET?

60+ for engagements & couple sessions. You can expect approximately 50+ per hour on a wedding day. This question is hard because I don’t hold back when it comes to photos. If there is a lot of action taking place, you’re going to get a TON of photos. If it’s a little slower or lots of travel factored in, then you will get less as there won’t be as much time spent shooting. 

HOW MANY OUTFITS CAN WE WEAR?

As many as you want, but keep in mind that that cuts into your shooting time. I recommend 1 classier outfit and one casual outfit. Regardless of how many you choose you want to FEEL like YOU in what you wear!

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT YOU?

Uhmm absolutely YES! I am the biggest fan of hiking, dogs, wine, and coffee dates && I’m likely going to cry while I edit your session because they always put me back in the feels of that day & I probably already miss the crap outta you! <3

HOW DO YOU BACK UP OUR PHOTOS?

I shoot with 2 cards at EVERY session, and that dual writes so I have a back-up as soon as the shutter is clicked. I back up all images on 2 hard drives immediately, and never delete a card until the session has been delivered. Then I basically take those to the grave with me.

WHY DOES PHOTOGRAPHY COST SO MUCH?

I’m with you from the moment your name pops up in my inbox until the day I send over your photos + beyond like 99% of the time. Things that cost money on my end: insurance, editing software, camera gear / equipment, the computer I am working on to email and edit, workflow systems, hard drives that your photos are stored on, travel, coordinating with vendors, creating timelines, Facetime and calls to make sure we are on the same page & running smoothly, editing takes time, and A LOT of it.
Time - it's a very valuable thing and I spend lots of it just investing back into the people investing in me as their photographer. I can promise you that you are paying for much more than just 8 hours on your wedding day. Your investment goes right back into you and your honey and making sure you have the wedding day you have always dreamed of. 

DO WE RECEIVE THE RAW FILES?

Absolutely not. You hired me because you loved my work, and that includes how I hand edit every single image. I shoot with my editing style in mind and only I can create the images that you fell in love with. 

DO WE HAVE THE PRINTING RIGHTS TO IMAGES?

Yes, and every online gallery comes with the option to print with the best quality images around. For an extra fee I can also provide this service and build albums for you. Ask me for my pricing guide for this service and I will send it over.

WHEN CAN WE START POSTING OUR PHOTOS?

AS SOON AS YOU GET THEM! Sneaks are meant for you to share, that’s why I get them to you so quickly… I had the hardest time waiting for any of my own images when I was on the other side of the camera, so I like to get you some teasers ASAP. My only requirement is to tag EMILY VANDEHEY PHOTOGRAPHY when you share to properly credit me. I am humbled to share that it’s because of all of YOU that my business has grown so much. Word of mouth and personal recommendations are my main source of bookings. 

HOW IS THERe so much LAUGHTER IN YOUR IMAGES?

Because we get to be children for a couple hours. We make fart jokes. I ask you to do very silly things. We’ll probably do some trust exercises. You'll do a little booty grabbing with each other, and talk about your favorite foods. Confused as heck by all this? You thought photos were "stand like this, "turn your head this way, and smile…." Welp, just come join me & experience for yourself what a true photo experience should be like. Be ready to laugh. and talk about your favorite memories as I capture new ones.
