As a photographer there are things you learn as you work with more people and grow your business. Here are a few things that I do and encourage my couples to do to help elevate their photo experience:
- Ride to your shoots together so that way we have time to just talk and hang out like friends before even pulling out a camera and putting any pressure on the photos we’re about to take.
- Incorporate things that remind you of your love story — like your new puppy that you got when you got engaged! I’m a big big fan of all the puppies and I always encourage my couples to bring them because they truly are a part of your family, too.
- Go to a place where you feel most at home. These two escape to the forest together and it’s a beautiful reflection of where they can so easily be themselves.
- Match your engagement photos to elements of your wedding so it all ties in nicely together with Save the Dates. These two are getting married in the fall so they wore colors that would represent their wedding, and that really feels like the state that they’re getting married in.
- Know where to go, and when to stop at each spot to get the sunset flares that make you want to drool. Scroll down to the bottom of their session to see what I’m talking about because it’s gonna blow your mind!! One of my favorite sunsets to date!! Like I squealed when I saw how FIRE these were turning out in the camera.
P.S. This was another spot that I found just on the side of the road. It pays to keep your eyes out when you’re driving different sessions because you might just find hidden gems after your left or your right.
