But honestly guys, she couldn’t be more right. It sounds sarcastic, but it’s the truth. Living in Oregon I knew that we only get a limited amount of sunshine, and months where you can take photos without getting rained out. A spot that had been calling my heart was Arizona. The beautiful thing about these two places is that their “on” seasons are in opposite times which means that I needed to get content over in Arizona and get familiar with the landscape in order to shoot in both spots.

Little did I know that I will FALL IN LOVE with it. The mountains, the cacti, the desert, the colors, the sunsets… Dare I go on?! It may have rained on us when we were there (dang Oregon for following me there), and they just got out of one of the wettest winters that they’d seen, but it sure made for some epic portrait locations!

I’m so thankful for Megan and Keaton being upset just explore with me in Mesa, Arizona. The best spots you’ll find when you’re traveling are generally ones that are just off on the side of the road. You may have to jump over a fence, or do a little hike, but trust me the views are to die for.

Book a ticket, get some couples to model for you, and just do what you do every day but in a new space.

Two things that came in handy when planning the sessions was using the satellite mode in Google Maps, and Lumos so I could see what I was getting into before I got there. Not sure how to use this?
