I love Edwinna and Tim. And let’s just leave it at that.
Just kidding I’ll tell you why I love them, and why they have such a memorable engagement session in my eyes.
We took these during the quarantine. Remember that time when basically no one could ever leave their house unless they were essential to humanity and even then it wasn’t okay. Yeah, super confusing times haha… So it had been a LONG time since they had gone out on a proper date that didn’t involve dinner at the house with a new Netflix series like Tiger King playing in the background. When I asked them what they wanted to do for photos they said they wanted to rent out a cute A-frame Airbnb at the beach so we can do photos inside, then end down at the beach for sunset. I was all in.
Then they would have the space to themselves for an entire weekend to just connect, and date each other. This engagement season goes so fast, so it’s important to create spaces in the midst of the wedding planning process to just have fun and do things that you did when you’re falling in love with one another. Rather than just focusing on the stresses of the upcoming production that is a wedding day.
These two had dinner waiting for me, and Edwina made drinks for us before we started shooting. They brought their personalized engraved wedding ring box that Tim had proposed to Edwina within Bali a year prior. All of the little details like that are so important, and I love when my couples share them with me and bring them to their sessions.
What’s important to me is creating a space where my couples feel confident to just be themselves and to share the important pieces of their relationship with me so I can tell their story in the best light.
