The closest airport to fly into for a Central Oregon Wedding would be the Redmond Airport or Portland which is about a 4 hour drive away. The most ideal time to plan your central Oregon wedding would be within the months of May – October in order to truly experience all the the area has to offer before the winter snow rolls in. Couples who love the outdoors, high desert and the full wedding weekend celebration are the ones who choose to say “I do” in Central Oregon because you truly cannot absorb the beauty in only one day. Ranch at the Canyons is a one-of-a-kind venue that is just a short drive from one of Oregon’s Seven Wonders – Smith Rock State Park. This Historic Great Hall furnishes two floors of event space with incredible river-rock fireplaces on each level and a gorgeous floating spiral staircase in between. This exquisite building presents a dramatic hand-peeled timber high-beam ceiling perfect for the ever-so-popular barn wedding.
Homestead Lawn + Heritage Room
The Homestead Lawn is a captivating outdoor setting located adjacent to the Heritage Room. This professionally manicured and landscaped lawn surrounded by old-growth ponderosa pines and aspen trees provides breathtaking views of Mt. Bachelor and offers a more intimate park-like setting.
The newly transformed Heritage Room offers dramatic views of the meadows as well as Mt. Bachelor. With natural wood paneling and a wall of windows, this space delivers a rustic barn-like feel that naturally blends into the historic surroundings.
Found adjacent to the Main Lodge, Besson commons is an outdoor venue ideal for a more casual evening. Surrounded by lush green grass and towering trees, this space features paver stone patio areas, two large fire pits, and bocce ball courts. Caldera Springs Lakeside and Lakehouse provides you and your guests exclusivity during your ceremony and reception. The lakehouse features shuffleboard, billiards, and numerous other games for evening entertainment.
The most intimate venue on the property tucked right inside the Great Hall, is the Fireside Room. This warm, inviting room features a breathtaking rock fireplace, natural wood floors, and paneling for a memorable, cozy, and intimate affair.
5. HOUSE ON THE METOLIUS
Looking for an epic view? House on the Metolius is the place for you with a view of a lifetime. From the Metolius River to Mt. Jefferson, you can enjoy picturesque sceneries from almost anywhere on the property. There are two primary wedding sites, the lawn at the Main House and the meadow by the Metolius River, with both indoor and outdoor spaces available for a cocktail party and reception. House on Metolius works very closely with its network of preferred caterers and suppliers to give you the most professional and successful experience.
The Main House can host either indoor or outdoor events with its connected lawn looking directly over the river. If indoors, the Grand Room features a breathtaking river view through big picture windows and is perfectly designed for small, intimate weddings.

Spring
While spring tends to come a little late in Central Oregon, come April, wildflowers begin to bloom in the Badlands, mountain bike trails start to open up near town, and rivers start to rise. Be prepared for all kinds of crazy weather in the spring, from snow to sunshine to high winds and rain, Mother Nature is all about the unpredictability of this beautiful season while she brings back the green and lets the waters rise.
